Interactive Design, eCommerce

Background

gravitypope is a Canadian fashion institution offering a curated selection of footwear, clothing, and accessories. With decades of success, they needed a modernized online store to better serve customers and empower their eCommerce and marketing teams.

Problem

The old website lacked a cohesive design system, offered a frustrating user experience, and had limited tools for the internal team to showcase products and campaigns effectively.

Approach

  • New Design System: Created a cohesive system that aligns with the brand while remaining familiar to the team and customers.

  • Enhanced Mobile Experience: Prioritized seamless navigation and usability across devices.

  • Flexible Tools: Introduced improved content blocks and a dynamic navigation system to simplify the internal team’s workflow.

  • Improved Shopping Experience: Added hover interactions, swipeable images, and suggested products to keep users engaged and eliminate dead ends.

  • Journal & Editorial Features: Integrated cross-referencing for products and dynamic layouts for storytelling.

  • Designer Page Updates: Simplified brand discovery with streamlined navigation.

Outcome

The redesigned website received positive feedback from both customers and the internal team, offering improved navigation, mobile usability, and tools to showcase products more effectively. Internal teams embraced the new system, leading to more streamlined campaigns and merchandising efforts.
